Singapore, 14-16 May 2024 – The 10th edition of the ETSI/IQC Quantum Safe Cryptography Conference saw participation from over 235 onsite delegates representing 27 countries. This three-day event addressed to business, industry, government, and research communities involved in cryptographic standardization, aimed at addressing challenges in a post-quantum era.
About ETSI Conference
The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) is renowned for its role in ICT standards development and is actively engaged in quantum communication technologies, having already established QKD standards. As part of its efforts to stimulate the quantum sector, ETSI organizes the Quantum Safe Cryptography Conference.
Hosted by the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) at the National University of Singapore (NUS), this year’s conference was organized jointly by ETSI and the Institute for Quantum Computing, in partnership with Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Cyber Security Agency (CSA).
Representing LuxQuanta were Dr. Marco Cofano, Head of Software Engineering, and Dr. Sebastian Etcheverry, CTO & Co-founder, who participated in the conference on behalf of both the company and the QUARTER consortium.
The conference served as a pivotal platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, facilitating the transition of cyber infrastructures and business practices to ensure security in the impending quantum era. The event comprised an executive track, discussing current quantum threats and risk management strategies, alongside a technical track that provided insights into cryptographic technologies under development globally, including initiatives such as QUARTER and the EuroQCI DIGITAL-related projects.
Particularly noteworthy were discussions on ongoing standardization efforts worldwide, practical deployments of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), and strategies for securing quantum-resistant ecosystems.
The gathered insights are crucial for advancing the practical deployment of QKD and related technologies as part of the QUARTER project and consortium, ensuring adherence to forthcoming standards.
