At the ETSI/IQC Conference 2025, QUARTER joined leading voices in quantum-safe communications. LuxQuanta's Marco Cofano contributed to key discussions on QKD, deployment challenges, and infrastructure readiness

The 2025 edition of the ETSI/IQC Quantum Safe Cryptography Conference took place at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, reaffirming its role as a key platform for dialogue and collaboration between industry, academia, and public institutions on the future of secure communications.

The QUARTER EuroQCI consortium was proudly represented by LuxQuanta’s Head of Software Engineering, Marco Cofano, who actively participated in high-level technical sessions focused on the challenges and solutions shaping quantum-safe communications.

The conference featured deep dives into the current state and evolution of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), including deployment hurdles, sector-specific use cases, especially in finance, and the broader roadmap for integrating quantum technologies into real-world infrastructure.

One of the standout contributions was delivered by Jaime Gómez, who presented a pioneering approach to “Multivendor, Multiprotocol Quantum-Safe IPSEC Dynamic Multipoint VPNs in a Bank Network“, a concrete example of how quantum-safe architecture is becoming operationally viable in high-security environments.

Events like this not only strengthen the technical ecosystem but also reinforce Europe’s strategic direction towards sovereignty in secure communications. QUARTER’s presence highlighted the commitment of its members to shaping this future through innovation, standardisation, and industrial readiness.
